What is Kibana?
Kibana is the name given to the part of the 'Kashinuki' (headpiece), ’Hijiki' (elbow beam), or `Koryo` (rainbow beam) that protrudes from the pillar at its tip.
As time went by, the kiba became more significant as a decorative element, and became a separate component from the Kashinuki, Hijiki, and 'Koryo'. In the early days, they were simple, but gradually they came to be decorated with intricate and delicate carvings such as lions, dragons, elephants, and tapir.
